NAS42 Alloy Steel Applications

For the production of Fe-Ni alloy strips, rods, tubes, wires and sheets for matching seals with soft glass and ceramics in electrical components. It is used in the electric vacuum industry for sealing with soft glass.

Alloys are mainly used for sealing with soft glass, ceramics, etc. to make leads, frames and sealing plugs for electronic tubes, transistors and integrated circuits. The sealing material chosen should be matched with the expansion coefficient of the alloy in the application. The grain size should be controlled during heat treatment to ensure that the material has good deep drawing properties. When using forged and rolled material should be strictly tested for gas tightness of the material.
