Galvanized Roofing Sheet VS Galvalume Roofing Sheet
These two metal roofing sheets are steel base sheets which are applied with different coatings, and then be profiled into corrugated design for roofing. And their features significantly differ.
Galvalume Metal Roofing Sheet is coated with aluminum and zinc alloys (55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicone), while galvanized steel is covered with zinc coating. The aluminum naturally resists corrosion to better protect the steel core against corrosion compared to galvanized sheet. That is to say, galvalume has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than galvanized material. It is proved that the service life of GL roofing will last more than 60 years, which is 20-30 years longer than that of GI roofing sheets.
