What Is DC53D+AZ steel?
DC53D+AZ steel is hot dipped galvanized steel under the standard Q/BQB 420-2003. It is used for stamping. It is widely used for the production of automobile, construction, household appliances and other industries both inside and outside covering parts and components.
DC53D+AZ is a hot-dip 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel coil with deep drawing cold rolled substrate. It features excellent ductility, superior formability and outstanding corrosion resistance, widely used for complex stamping and deep drawing parts.
D: Flat steel for cold forming
C: Cold-rolled base material
53: Deep drawing grade, better stretching performance than DC52D
D: Hot-dip coated
+AZ: 55% Al-Zn alloy coating (55% Aluminum, 43.4% Zinc, 1.6% Silicon)

FAQ
1. Can I paint Galvalume steel?
Yes. While Galvalume can be used in its "bare" metallic state, it is often pre-painted (color-coated) at the factory. If painting on-site, specific primers for Al-Zn coatings must be used.
2. What are the common applications of Galvalume?
It is primarily used for metal roofing, wall panels, grain silos, automotive parts, and household appliances (like ovens and refrigerators) due to its heat resistance.
3. Does Galvalume reflect heat?
Yes, Galvalume has high solar reflectivity. It reflects a significant amount of solar radiation, which helps keep buildings cooler and reduces energy costs in the summer.
4. Can Galvalume be used with pressure-treated wood?
No. The chemicals in modern pressure-treated lumber (like copper) react electrolytically with the Galvalume coating, leading to rapid corrosion. Use a barrier or choose different materials.
5. Is Galvalume steel environmentally friendly?
Yes, it is 100% recyclable. Additionally, its long lifespan and energy-saving reflective properties make it a sustainable choice for "green" building.
6. What is the standard thickness (gauge) for Galvalume roofing?
The most common gauges for residential and commercial roofing are 24 gauge and 26 gauge, though it is available in thinner or thicker options depending on the structural needs.
