Used for applications in the temperature range up to approximately 900°C, 04Cr18Ni10Ti20 stainless steel bar combines high strength, resistance to peeling and subsequent phase stability against corrosion in aqueous solutions. Its limitation is that titanium does not have a good transition to the welding arc and therefore cannot be used as a welding material. Like other austenitic grades, 04Cr18Ni10Ti20 stainless steel bar has excellent forming and welding properties, is easily bent or roll formed and does not require post-weld annealing. 04Cr18Ni10Ti20 stainless steel bar has excellent toughness even at low temperatures. It is suitable for the manufacture of expansion joints, bellows, furnace components, heating tubes and heat exchangers.
