ASTM 301 Stainless Steel Bar is an austenitic stainless steel with a high work hardening rate, ASTM 301 Stainless Steel Bar and its low carbon grades are used where high strength is required. It has a high work hardening rate of approximately 14MPa/%Ra (14MPa increase in tensile strength for every 1% cold work surface reduction rate), so it achieves high strength through cold rolling and cold forming. ASTM 301 Stainless Steel Bar has sufficient residual ductility for extensive cold forming despite its high strength.
