EN 1.4404 stainless steel bar has better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments due to the addition of molybdenum. It is non-magnetic, but may become slightly magnetic after cold working and welding. EN 1.4404 stainless steel bar has been modified to be machinable and has very good corrosion resistance. EN 1.4404 stainless steel bar can be easily welded by various conventional welding methods. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but it can be hardened by cold working.
