Grade description:
It is martensitic stainless steel that provides corrosion resistance with increased strength and hardness. It is pursuing magnetic properties in the annealed conditions and the hardened conditions. However, higher corrosion resistance is attained in the completely hardened and stress relieved condition. It is best to use in temperatures above 800 deg f due to rapid softening and loss of corrosion. Ss coils are used in the hardened and stress relieved condition to increase the corrosion resistance ability. When it is annealed it offers poor corrosion performance and at this range, it is not used. These coils are annealed for maximum softness. Also, it can be moderately drawn and formed.
