It also retains its magnetic properties under annealed and hardened conditions. AISI 420 Stainless Steel Coil, which has a higher carbon content than alloy 410, has good ductility in the annealed condition and can be hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 50 HRC, the highest hardness of the 12% chromium grade. AISI 420 Stainless Steel Coil can be heated at 840 to 900°C and then cooled slowly at 600°C, followed by air cooling.
