The lower carbon content minimises the precipitation of carbides in the heat affected zone close to the weld seam, which can lead to intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) in some environments. As a high alloy steel stainless steel, Stainless Steel Coil ASTM 309S has excellent corrosion resistance and strength and is suitable for parts with a working temperature of 1000°C.
