Alloy 904L (UNS N08904) is a superaustenitic stainless steel designed for corrosion and pitting resistance in a wide range of process environments. Alloy 904L Sheet is used extensively in the chemical process industry including the production of phosphate-based Alloy 904L Sheet fertilizers.

ASTM A240 Alloy 904L Sheets : material 3/16" [5.00 mm] and over in thickness and over 10" [250 mm] in width; Alloy 904L Sheet: material under 3/16" [5.00 mm] in thickness and 24" [600 mm] and over in width; UNS N08904 Strip: cold-rolled material under 3/16" [5.00 mm] in thickness and under 24" [600 mm] in width. 904L Stainless Steel Clad plate: a composite steel plate made by bonding, etc.

Alloy 904L Sheet can be easily welded and processed by standard fabrication process. ss 904l plate is quite ductile and can be easily formed. The addition of molybdenum and nitrogen provides more powerful processing equipment and it may be necessary when compared to the standard 304/304L grades.
