Alloy Steel NASNI201 is a low-carbon version of nickel 200. Due to its intrinsically lower hardness and lower work-hardening rate, pure nickel X201 is particularly suitable for spinning and cold forming. Compared to nickel 200, brocade 201 is more suitable for use in temperatures above 315°C.
Like Ni200, it has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance in many corrosive environments. Other useful characteristics of this alloy include its magnetic properties, magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivity, low gas content and low evaporation pressure. Nickel 201's putrescence resistance makes it particularly useful in applications where purity of the product is important in the face of foodstuffs, man-made fibers, and caustic soda. It is also used extensively in structural applications where corrosion resistance is a major consideration. Other uses include chemical delivery drums, electrical and electronic components, aerospace, and missile components. Typical applications are alkali evaporators, combustion vessels, plating rods and electronic components.
