Cold Rolled Steel DC03
The deep drawing grade DC03 cold rolled steel is specified in accordance with DIN EN 10130, a European standard that applies to cold-rolled flat products made of low-carbon soft steels for cold forming. EN 10130 defines the technical delivery conditions, mechanical requirements, and testing methods for cold rolled steel sheets and coils used in a wide range of industrial applications. This standard is especially important for applications where high surface quality, dimensional accuracy, and stable mechanical properties are required.

EN 10130 DC03 steel is widely recognized for its excellent forming performance and reliable surface finish. As a typical low carbon cold rolled steel, DC03 is commonly used in industries such as automotive manufacturing, household appliances, electrical enclosures, and precision metal stamping, where consistent quality and smooth surfaces are critical.
DC03 is characterized by its low carbon content and optimized chemical composition, which ensures outstanding cold formability and good weldability. According to the standard, DC03 cold rolled steel contains a maximum of 0.10% carbon and up to 0.45% manganese, with very low levels of phosphorus and sulphur. This controlled composition plays a key role in achieving stable mechanical behavior during forming and welding processes, making DC03 steel sheets and coils suitable for demanding manufacturing environments.
The mechanical properties of DC03 steel are also clearly defined by DIN EN 10130. DC03 typically has a yield strength of at least 140 MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 270 to 370 MPa. In addition, the steel offers a minimum elongation of 34%, highlighting its excellent deep drawing and forming capability. These mechanical characteristics make DC03 cold rolled steel sheet and coil ideal for producing complex components that require tight tolerances and high surface quality, such as automotive body parts, appliance housings, and precision metal components.
Furthermore, DIN EN 10130 specifies strict tolerances for dimensions, shape, and surface quality of DC03 cold rolled steel products. These tolerances are essential to ensure consistent product performance and compatibility with automated production lines. Depending on application requirements, DC03 cold rolled steel flat products can be supplied with different surface finishes, ranging from matte to glossy, allowing manufacturers to select the most suitable surface condition for painting, coating, or further processing.
