Cold Rolled Steel Coil Production Process

Since there is no heating during the production process, there are no defects such as pits and scales that often occur in hot rolling, and the surface quality is good and the finish is high. Moreover, the dimensional accuracy of cold-rolled products is high, and the performance and structure of the products can meet some special requirements, such as electromagnetic properties, deep drawing properties, etc.

Cold Rolled Steel Coil

Cold rolling:

use hot-rolled steel coils as raw materials, pickle and remove scale, and then carry out cold rolling. The finished product is hard rolled coils. The strength, hardness, and toughness of hard rolled coils increase due to cold hardening caused by continuous cold deformation. The plastic index decreases, so the stamping performance will deteriorate, and it can only be used for parts with simple deformation. Hard-rolled coils can be used as raw materials for hot-dip galvanizing plants, because hot-dip galvanizing units are equipped with annealing lines. The weight of hard-rolled coils is generally 6-13.5 tons, and the steel coils are continuously rolled at room temperature for hot-rolled pickled coils. The inner diameter is 610mm.

  • Relevant difference (Cold Rolled Steel & Hot Steel Coil)|

1. Appearance and surface quality:
Since the cold plate is obtained by the hot plate after the cold rolling process, and some surface finishing will be carried out at the same time, the surface quality (such as surface roughness) of the cold plate is better than that of the hot plate. It came well, so if there is a high requirement for the coating quality such as the subsequent painting of the product, the cold plate is generally selected, and the hot plate is divided into pickled plate and un-picked plate. The surface of the pickled plate is formed due to pickling. Normal metallic color, but it is not cold-rolled, so the surface is still not as high as the cold plate. The surface of the un-pickled plate usually has an oxide layer, black, or there is a black layer of ferric oxide. Generally speaking, it looks like it has been baked by fire. , and if the storage environment is not good, it will usually be embroidered.

2. Performance:
In general, the mechanical properties of hot plates and cold plates are considered to be indistinguishable in engineering, although there is a certain work hardening of cold plates in the cold rolling process, (but the strict requirements on mechanical properties are not ruled out. , then it needs to be treated differently), the yield strength of the cold plate is usually slightly higher than that of the hot plate, and the surface hardness is also higher, the specific way depends on the degree of annealing of the cold plate. But in any case, the strength of the annealed cold plate is higher than that of the hot plate.

3. Forming performance.
Since the performance of cold and hot plates is basically not too different, the influencing factors of forming performance depend on the difference in surface quality. Since the surface quality is better from cold plates, generally speaking, the same material Steel plate, the forming appearance effect of cold plate is better than that of hot plate.
