DC01 1.5 mm Thick Carbon Steel Sheet
What Is DC01 Steel?
Cold-rolled flat steel DC01 is a widely used material in the industrial sector, which is used for various applications in the cold forming process due to its excellent properties. The standards DIN EN 10130 and DIN EN 10152 are decisive for ensuring the quality and requirements of this material.
DC01 steel is a low-carbon, cold-rolled steel grade specified in the EN 10130 standard, suitable for cold-rolled flat products made from unalloyed low-carbon steel. "DC" stands for "Drawing Cold," indicating its suitability for cold forming applications; "01" represents the base grade in the series, offering standard formability and surface quality suitable for general engineering and manufacturing applications.

DC01 – This grade can be used for simple forming work, e.g. bending, embossing, beading and drawing.
DC03 – This grade is suitable for forming requirements such as deep drawing and difficult profiling.
DC04 – This grade is suitable for high forming requirements.
DC05 – This deep-drawing grade is suitable for higher forming requirements.
DC06 – This special deep-drawing grade is suitable for the highest forming requirements.
DC07 – This super deep-drawing grade is suitable for extreme forming requirements.
DC01 in accordance with the DIN EN 10130 specification
The DIN EN 10130 standard outlines the requirements for cold-rolled flat products made from non-alloy quality steels intended for cold forming applications.
Technical delivery requirements
According to DIN EN 10130, cold-rolled flat steel must meet defined delivery conditions, including chemical composition, mechanical performance, and surface characteristics. These specifications ensure that the supplied material is suitable for processing and can achieve consistent final product quality.
Chemical composition
The chemical makeup of the steel plays a critical role in determining its performance and is clearly described in DIN EN 10130. For DC01, the carbon content may not exceed 0.12%, and manganese and phosphorus levels are also strictly controlled. This formulation provides excellent cold formability while maintaining a high-quality surface finish.
Mechanical properties
DC01 manufactured under the DIN EN 10130 standard features mechanical characteristics optimized for cold deformation. The material exhibits a tensile strength range of 270–410 MPa and a minimum elongation of 28%, allowing complex forming without the risk of fractures or material failure.
Surface finish
Surface quality represents another key component of DIN EN 10130. DC01 is available with various finish types, such as bright or matte surfaces. These options make it adaptable to a wide range of downstream applications, whether the steel is intended for decorative purposes or additional coating and finishing processes.
