DC06 - Cold rolled steel
The deep-drawing steel grade DC06 is defined under DIN EN 10130, a standard dedicated to cold-rolled flat products made from low-carbon steels designed for cold forming. This specification outlines the performance criteria and testing methods required for cold-rolled materials used across industrial sectors, particularly where exceptional formability and high-quality surface finishes are essential.
DC06 is an ultra-low-carbon steel renowned for its superior cold-forming capability. Its chemical composition is strictly controlled to achieve stable mechanical performance. In most cases, DC06 contains no more than 0.01% carbon and up to 0.20% manganese, along with extremely low levels of phosphorus and sulfur. The minimal alloying content is a key factor that enhances its remarkable formability and weldability.

The mechanical characteristics of DC06 are equally well regulated. The steel demonstrates a maximum yield strength of 120 MPa and a tensile strength range of 270–350 MPa. It also offers a minimum elongation of 40%, further highlighting its excellent ability to withstand deep forming processes. With these attributes, DC06 is an ideal choice for manufacturing highly complex and dimension-critical products, including deep-drawn automotive body panels and precision parts used in the household appliance industry.

1) Where no yield strength is defined, the respective values shall apply to the 0.2 % proof stress (Rp0.2) or to the lower yield strength (ReL). For thicknesses ≤ 0.7 mm but > 0.5 mm, the maximum yield strength values may be 20 MPa higher. In case of thicknesses ≤ 0.5 mm, the maximum yield limits may be 40 MPa higher.
2) For thicknesses ≤ 0.7 mm but > 0.5 mm, the minimum elongation at fracture may be 2 units lower. For thicknesses ≤ 0.5 mm, the minimum elongation at fracture may be 4 units lower.
3) The r90 and n90 values apply to product thicknesses ≥ 0.5 mm only.
4) For thicknesses > 2 mm, the r90-value is reduced by 0.2.
Other grades of cold-rolled steel:
DC01 – Designed for basic forming processes such as bending, embossing, beading and standard drawing operations.
DC03 – Intended for more demanding forming applications, including deep drawing and more complex profiling.
DC04 – Suitable for applications requiring high levels of formability.
DC05 – A deep-drawing grade developed to meet very high forming requirements.
DC06 – A special deep-drawing grade engineered for the highest demands in cold forming.
DC07 – An ultra deep-drawing grade tailored for extreme and highly challenging forming operations.
GNEE STEEL are manufacturer of steel products. We have quality steel coils and sheets for sale. Except for GI coils and sheets, we also have GL, PPGI, PPGL, Corrugated sheet, etc. to choose from. The standard seaworthy package contains waterproof kraft paper and plastic film inside, and steel sheets outside, then bound with steel strips. To secure it during transportation, we use wood pallets. During the two decades, we have developed complete systems from pre-sales consulting to after-sales service.
