1 Name definition
SPCC was originally the name of "cold-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips for general use" in the Japanese Standard (JIS). Now many countries or companies directly use it to represent similar steel products they produce (for example, Baosteel Q/BQB402 standard has SPCC). Note: Similar grades include SPCD (cold-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips for stamping), SPCE (cold-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips for deep drawing), SPCCK\SPCCCE, etc. (special steel for televisions), SPCC4D\SPCC8D, etc. (hard-rolled carbon steel sheets and strips) Quality steel, used for bicycle rims, etc.), used in different occasions.

 

2 Components
Common structural steel in Japanese steel (JIS series) grades is mainly composed of three parts. The first part represents the material, such as: S (Steel) represents steel, F (Ferrum) represents iron; the second part represents different shapes, types, and uses. For example, P (Plate) represents plate, T (Tube) represents tube, and K (Kogu) represents tool; the third part represents the characteristic number, which is generally the minimum tensile strength. For example: SS400 - the first S represents steel, the second S represents "structure", 400 is the lower limit tensile strength of 400MPa, and the overall represents ordinary structural steel with a tensile strength of 400MPa.

Supplement: SPCC--indicates generally used cold-rolled carbon steel sheets and steel strips, equivalent to China's Q195-215A grade. The third letter C is the abbreviation of Cold. When it is necessary to ensure the tensile test, add T at the end of the grade to indicate SPCCT.


3 Steel Classification


Applicable grades for Japanese cold-rolled carbon steel sheets: SPCC, SPCD, SPCE symbols: S-steel (Steel), P-plate (Plate), C-cold-rolled (cold), the fourth digit C-common grade (common) , D-stamping grade (Draw), E-deep drawing grade (Elongation)

 

Heat treatment status: A-annealed, S-annealed + flat, 8-(1/8) hard, 4-(1/4) hard, 2-(1/2) hard, 1-hard .

 

Drawing performance level: ZF - used for punching and drawing the most complex parts, HF - used for punching and drawing complex parts, F - used for punching and drawing complex parts.

 

Surface processing status: D - pitted surface (roller processed by grinder and then shot peened), B - bright surface (roller finished by grinder).

 

Surface quality: FC-high-grade finished surface, FB-higher-grade finished surface. Status, surface processing status, surface quality code, drawing level (only for SPCE), product specifications and dimensions, shape accuracy (thickness and/or width, length, unevenness).

 

Marking example: steel plate, standard number Q/BQB402, grade SPCC, heat treatment state annealed + smooth (S), surface processing state is pitted D, surface quality is FB grade trimmed steel plate (trimmed edge EC, non-trimmed edge EM) , thickness 0.5mm, B-level accuracy, width 1000mm, A-level accuracy, length 2000mm, A-level accuracy, unevenness accuracy PF.A, then the mark is: steel plate ECQ/BQB402-SPCC-SD-FB/ (0.5B× 1000A×2000A-PF.A) Origin: Baosteel, Taiwan, Japan, Pohang, South Korea, etc.

Applicable grades: st12, st13, st14, st15, st14-T

Symbol: ST-steel, 12-ordinary grade cold-rolled steel plate, 13-stamping grade cold-rolled steel plate, 14-deep drawing grade cold-rolled steel plate, 15-extra deep drawing grade cold-rolled steel plate, 14- T-Super cold-rolled thin steel plate. Surface quality: FC-high-grade finished surface, FB-higher-grade finished surface.

Surface structure: b-extra smooth, g-smooth, m-matte, r-rough.

 

Marking: product name (steel plate or steel strip), product standard number, surface quality code, drawing level (only for St14, St14-T, St15), surface structure, edge condition (trimmed edge EC, non-trimmed edge EM) , product specifications and dimensions, appearance accuracy (thickness and/or width, length, unevenness).

 

Marking example: steel plate, standard number Q/BQB403, grade St14, surface structure is particularly smooth (b), surface quality is FC, edge trimming (EC), thickness 0.8mm, A-level accuracy, width 1200mm, A-level accuracy, length 2000mm, A-level accuracy, unevenness is PF.B accuracy, marked: Q/BQB403St14-FC-ZF-b steel plate EC: 0.8A×1200A×2000A-PF.B Origin: Baosteel, Germany, etc.
