Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil

 

Galvanized steel coils, also known as GI coils, are produced by coating steel with a thin layer of zinc through a hot-dip galvanization process. This coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, making GI coils suitable for various applications in construction, automotive, and household appliances.

One of the key features of GI coils is the spangle pattern visible on the surface of the zinc coating. The spangle is a decorative effect created by the solidification of the zinc coating during the galvanization process.

  • Product Process

Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil

1 The crane lifts the coil to the inlet saddle, and the roll-up trolley takes the steel coil from the saddle and sends it to the unwinder drum.

2 The uncoiler rotates, the unwinding knife swings, and the steel head enters the pinch straightening machine

3 The strip runs forward, and the upper roll and the next roll are sheared and welded on the narrow seam welder.

4 strip steel is sprayed by alkali solution, lye scrubbing, electrolytic degreasing, water scrubbing, spray cleaning and drying, then enters the inlet looper

5 strip steel through the correcting roller, steering roller, tension roller into the vertical reduction annealing furnace

6 The strip steel is heat treated in an annealing furnace and then enters the zinc pot along the nose of the furnace.

7 The strip steel is attached with a layer of zinc liquid from the surface of the zinc pot. The compressed air blown by the air knife blows off the excess zinc liquid to ensure uniform thickness of the zinc layer.

8 strip steel enters air cooling, and then enters water quenching tank to cool

9 Strip steel through the finishing machine, tension leveler, enter the chemical treatment section for passivation treatment (line 5 has fingerprint resistance)

10 The strip enters the export looper, and the loop is inspected and oiled into the coiler for winding. When the required coil weight is reached, the coil is divided.

11 The unloading trolley removes the steel coil from the coiler, and the crane lifts the steel coil to the finished product warehouse for packaging.

 

  • Application

The galvanized steel coil is made of steel and zinc alloy. The galvanizing steel coil can be made very high and needs continuous galvanizing to be finished. The finished galvanized coil has excellent welding properties, and the coating attached to the surface of the galvanized coil also has very good adhesion. Galvanized steel coils play a vital role in the industrial and chemical industries.
