EN 1.4438 stainless steel bar has higher ductility, stress corrosion resistance, compressive strength and high temperature resistance than conventional stainless steels. EN 1.4438 stainless steel bar is a low carbon grade or L grade, a grade that is resistant to sensitisation during welding and during heat treatment. It is more resistant to atmospheric and other mild corrosion than conventional chromium-nickel stainless steels. EN 1.4438 stainless steel bar is designed for use in demanding operating environments (e.g. flue gas desulphurisation systems) and it can also be used for other applications in industry, construction and the food processing industry.
