The 200 series stainless steel contains extremely low nickel content, and its corrosion resistance is much lower than that of the 300 and 400 series. The difference between it and other high nickel stainless steels cannot be distinguished with the naked eye.
The composition of 201 is 17Cr-4.5Ni-6Mn-N, which is an alternative to Ni-saving steel grade and 301 steel. After cold working, it has magnetism and is used in railway vehicles. 201 has a higher manganese content, and the surface is very bright with dark and bright. The higher manganese content is easy to rust and the corrosion resistance is poor, so the price is lower than the 300,400 series.
