AISI 347 / 347H is characterized by high corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. Due to the presence of niobium in AISI 347 / 347H (1.4550, UNS S34700). The material becomes sensitive to intergranular corrosion. Stabilization with niobium prevents the formation of chromium carbide and therefore increases the resistance to corrosion. AISI 347 / 347H (1.4550, UNS S34700) has an excellent weldability characteristic of austenitic steels.
