Characterisation
Precipitation sus 630 plates hardening steels are characterised into one of three groups based on their final microstructures after heat treatment. The three sus 630 plates types are: martensitic (e.g. 17-4 PH), semi-austenitic (e.g. 17-7 PH) and austenitic (e.g. A-286).

sus630 Machining
sus 630 plates Condition has machining characteristics similar to stainless steel grade SS302, SS304 and SS410. The high hardness and strength in Condition H900 is the most difficult to machine and the material should be machined at 60% of the rate which is used for Condition A.
High strength is maintained to approximately 600°F (316°C). 17-4ph has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking at higher aging temperatures.
