DC01 vs DC06 Cold-Rolled Steel

The main difference between DC06 and DC01 lies in their deep drawing performance (formability). DC01 is a standard stamping grade, suitable for simple forming operations, while DC06 is an ultra-deep drawing grade, suitable for the most demanding and complex deep-drawn parts. This difference is primarily due to DC06's stricter chemical composition control (ultra-low carbon, Ti alloying) and lower yield strength.

Comparison Table: DC01 vs DC06 Cold-Rolled Steel (EN 10130 Standard)

Property  Standard  DC01 DC06 Notes

Deoxidation Method   Manufacturer's choice Aluminium fully killed (Ti alloyed) Ensures stable properties for DC06.
Strain Ageing Resistance   Not guaranteed Guaranteed for 6 months DC06 is stabilised.
Typical Applications   Simple bending, general forming, non-demanding mouldings. Complex, large-area mouldings, difficult deep-drawn parts, automotive body parts.

DC01 is a general-purpose standard stamping steel suitable for simple bending and forming applications.
DC06 is a high-grade special deep-drawing steel, achieving excellent ductility and aging resistance through ultra-low carbon content and alloying (typically with titanium Ti), specifically designed for the most complex deep-drawing and stretch-forming parts.

Our company can also supply the following cold-rolled steel grades:
DC01 – Designed for basic forming processes such as bending, embossing, beading and standard drawing operations.
DC03 – Intended for more demanding forming applications, including deep drawing and more complex profiling.
DC04 – Suitable for applications requiring high levels of formability.
DC05 – A deep-drawing grade developed to meet very high forming requirements.
DC06 – A special deep-drawing grade engineered for the highest demands in cold forming.
DC07 – An ultra deep-drawing grade tailored for extreme and highly challenging forming operations.
