- What Is PPGI Coil?
PPGI coil is short for pre-painted galvanized steel coil. It is a kind of color-coated steel, that uses hot-dip galvanized steel or electro-galvanized steel (zinc coating) as substrate and is coated with several layers of organic coatings to protect it from rusting. Except for the PPGI steel coil, Wanzhi Steel also has a color-coated coil using galvalume steel (PPGL) and hot or cold rolled steel as the base metal.
- Hot-dip Galvanized PPGI Steel
At GNEE Steel, we mainly use hot-dip galvanized steel sheets as the base metal. With the protection of the zinc layer and organic coating, its service life is longer than that of the hot-dip galvanized sheet. The maximum zinc layer available is 275 g/㎡.
- Electro-galvanized PPGI Steel
The electro-galvanized sheet is used as the substrate. Because the zinc layer of the electro-galvanized sheet is thin, usually 20 g/㎡, its corrosion resistance is not as good as the hot-dipped galvanized sheet. So this product is not suitable for making walls and roofs for outdoor uses. But it has a beautiful appearance and excellent processing performance, it is mainly used in home appliances, steel furniture, interior decoration, etc.
- PPGI Coil Manufacturing Process
GNEE Steel adopts the coil coating process, which refers to the galvanized steel being cleaned, pre-treated, and painted in coil form continuously.
PPGI coils are based on hot-dip galvanized sheet, hot-dip aluminum-zinc sheet, electro-galvanized sheet, etc. After surface pre treatment (chemical degreasing and chemical conversion treatment), one or more layers of organic paint are applied on the surface, followed by The product is cured by baking. It is also named after the color steel coil plate coated with various colors of organic paint, referred to as color coated coil.
