Products Description
DX51D+AZ galvalume steel coil is a general-purpose hot-dip aluminum-zinc coated steel manufactured according to European standard EN 10346. It is the most common cold-rolled based galvalume material, featured with excellent formability, flat surface and moderate corrosion resistance, mainly used for stamping, bending and general indoor & outdoor decorative components.
- DX51D: Non-alloy deep drawing cold rolled steel substrate
DX: Designation for flat carbon steel for cold forming
51D: Normal commercial forming grade, good ductility and easy processing for bending, stamping and rolling
- +AZ: Hot-dip galvalume coating
AZ refers to 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon alloy coating;
Common coating weight: AZ50 / AZ70 / AZ100 / AZ150 / AZ180 / AZ200(g/m²)
Feature
Galvalume steel coil has good corrosion resistance. It can balance the protective and repair effects of zinc with the anti-corrosion effect of aluminum, extending the service life of steel sheets.
Galvalume steel coil has relatively good heat resistance and will not change color when exposed to temperatures of around 316 degrees for a long time. It still has good antioxidant properties at a temperature of 677 degrees.

description |
||
|
Chromate passivation (C) |
A surface treatment method used after aluminum-zinc alloy coating high-strength steel sheets to reduce white rust during transportation and storage. |
||
|
Chromium-free passivation (C5) |
It requires the restriction of the use of surface treatments in passivation liquids that are harmful to the environment and human body, such as hexavalent chromium. |
||
|
Fingerprint resistant (N) |
The surface treatment method after the passivation process acts as a lubricant during processing, preventing fingerprints from staining the surface during operation and preventing premature blackening of the surface during use. |
||
|
Fingerprint-resistant without chrome (N5) |
Limits the content of environmentally and human-harmful hexavalent chromium in fingerprint-resistant liquids. |
||
| Oil |
Surface treatment methods that reduce corrosion during long-distance transportation and long-term storage. |

FAQ
1. Can Galvalume handle high temperatures?
Yes. Galvalume can withstand temperatures up to 315°C (600°F) without discoloration and even higher temperatures before the coating is compromised, making it ideal for flue pipes and appliances.
2. How do I maintain a Galvalume roof?
Maintenance is minimal. It is recommended to rinse the surface with clean water once a year to remove salt, dust, or organic debris that could trap moisture against the metal.
3. Is Galvalume more expensive than Galvanized?
Initially, Galvalume may have a slightly higher price point per ton than Galvanized steel, but its lower life-cycle cost (due to longevity) makes it more economical over time
.
4. What is "Anti-Fingerprint" (AFP) Galvalume?
AFP is a thin organic coating applied over the Galvalume surface. It prevents fingerprints during installation, improves roll-forming lubrication, and adds an extra layer of protection against temporary storage stains.
5. Can I use Galvalume for rain gutters?
Yes, but you must ensure the entire drainage system is compatible. Avoid mixing Galvalume gutters with copper downspouts to prevent galvanic corrosion.
6. How is Galvalume produced?
It is produced via a continuous hot-dip process. The steel strip passes through a molten bath of the Al-Zn alloy at high speeds, ensuring a uniform and tightly bonded coating.
