FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE ALUMINUM PIPES MADE THROUGH THE PROCESS OF EXTRUSION? WHAT IS THE MAIN ALLOYING ELEMENT FOR THIS ALUMINUM GRADE?
Are aluminum pipes made through the process of extrusion?
ANSWER:
Yes, aluminum pipes are an extruded product. Of the 6000 aluminum series, 6063 aluminum is considered excellent for extruded aluminum. Pipes are a hollow extruded aluminum and are not intended for weight bearing or high wear applications. Rather, this grade is best in supportive structural applications where strength is not critical.
