Introduction to deep processing technology for automobile steel plate production

1. Laser welded blank technology
Laser welded blanks use laser as the welding heat source to join and weld several steels, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, etc. of different materials, thicknesses, and coatings into a single overall plate. Using laser tailor welding technology, the thickness, size and strength of materials can be reasonably combined according to the stress conditions of structural parts, thereby improving structural stiffness while reducing the weight of parts. This technology is mostly used in front and rear door inner panels, front and rear longitudinal beams, side panels, floor panels, door inner A, B, and C pillars, wheel covers, and trunk inner panels.

2. Continuously variable cross-section panel technology
Continuously variable cross-section panels refer to steel plates that change the size of the roll gap in real time during the rolling process, so that the rolled thin plates have pre-customized variable cross-section shapes along the rolling direction. They are widely used in the manufacture of hood panels, B-pillars, and car bodies. Body structure components such as chassis, motor spacer rails, center pillar inner panels, fenders and crash boxes.

3. Internal high pressure forming technology
Seamless pipe fittings or welded pipe fittings are used as raw materials, and through the joint action of the liquid pressure in the pipe fitting cavity and the axial load, it is deformed into the required shape in a given mold. It is a type of thin plate hydroforming technology and is mostly used for Manufacturing of chassis parts such as subframes or engine system parts such as intake manifolds and outlet manifolds.

4. Hot stamping technology
The hot-formed steel added with elements that improve hardenability is heated to above the austenite temperature and kept until the steel is completely austenitized, then placed in a hot stamping die and stamped using the good formability of austenite at high temperatures. The processed steel plate has a tensile strength of up to 1000MPa and has good mechanical properties. This technology is mostly used in left and right anti-collision bars, bumpers, floor tunnels, roof reinforcement beams, ABC pillar reinforcement plates, etc.

5. Cold bending forming technology
It is a plastic processing technology that passes the cold strip or hot strip through a forming unit composed of multiple rollers equipped with certain grooves arranged in sequence, and continuously bends and deforms it at a small angle, and finally processes it into a specific geometric cross-section profile. Cold bending forming technology is mainly used in parts such as cabin frames, wall panels, floor panels, body frames, bottom beams, and door window frames of trucks and large buses.
